What pressure actually is, and why yours is individual

Before reading your results, it is worth being precise about what we are measuring.

Working Definition
Pressure is the experienced gap between what is demanded of you and what you believe you can reliably deliver, given the resources, authority, and recovery capacity you actually have available.

First, pressure is a perception, not a workload. Two people in identical roles may experience radically different pressure, because their internal resources, sense of authority, and access to recovery differ.

Second, pressure is generated from both inside and outside. Internal sources: physiological baseline, cognitive load, emotional reserves, self-standards. External sources: the structural conditions of your role, the gap between accountability and authority, load you carry that was never formally assigned, organizational context you navigate.

Third, and most importantly: not all pressure is yours to carry. Some is inherent and produces growth. Some is structural, generated by organizational design or inherited problems, and produces only cost. Distinguishing between the two is where intelligent work begins.

Why this matters for your results

Your score does not mean you are failing. It means your system is operating in an elevated pressure mode across multiple dimensions simultaneously. Understanding where the pressure is coming from is the necessary precondition for doing anything about it.

Profile Overview

Your pressure profile across eight dimensions

Pressure rarely comes from a single source. Your results show where the load is concentrated and where the greatest leverage exists.

How to read your results

Your profile is organized in two groups. External dimensions (your role structure, work climate, and the speed of change in your environment) measure the pressure your context generates. Internal dimensions (identity, cognitive load, emotional state, and physical recovery) measure your capacity to absorb it. High external pressure reduces internal capacity. Understanding both sides of the equation is what makes the difference between managing pressure and working with it intelligently.

High Pressure
Significant pressure generating a real and sustained cost. Requires attention.
Elevated
Meaningful pressure consuming capacity, often without being visible from the outside.
Managed
Low to moderate pressure. Worth monitoring but not a priority for immediate attention.
Well Managed
Minimal pressure. The conditions here are working in your favor.
